Serial number tracking helps maintain records of individual items for warranty purposes, equipment history, and inventory accountability.

Enabling Serial Number Tracking
Enable Multiple Serial Numbers for a Product:
  1. Navigate to the product details page
  2. Toggle on Multiple serial numbers
  3. Click the Serial Numbers button that appears
  4. Add existing serial numbers to the system
Adding Serial Numbers

Once enabled, you can manage serial numbers in two ways:

  • Pre-populate existing inventory: Use the Serial Numbers button to add all current items
  • Add during stock updates: Enter new serials when receiving inventory

Serial number tracking provides complete traceability for equipment, electronics, and other valuable items throughout their lifecycle in your inventory.

Using Serial Numbers in Stock Updates
Incoming Stock (IN)
Adding New Items with Serial Numbers:
  1. Select IN transaction type
  2. Choose your product
  3. Enter quantity
  4. The Serial Numbers section will appear
  5. Add new serial numbers for incoming items
Outgoing Stock (OUT)
Selecting Specific Items for Removal:
  1. Select OUT transaction type
  2. Choose your product
  3. Enter quantity
  4. Select which specific serial numbers to remove from inventory

Serial number tracking must be enabled before adding items to inventory. Existing stock without serial numbers cannot be retroactively assigned.
